SUGGESTED SEVEN DAY ITINERARY
AROUND THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

There are many different ways to explore the British Virgin Islands on your private charter yacht.  The following is just an example of the places you might visit on the way.

Map of the BVI

Day 1.
After arriving on board, enjoying a welcome cocktail, the crew will throw off the dock lines and you will be on your way across the Sir Francis Drake Channel arrive at The Bight, Norman Island, rumored to be the site of Robert Louis Stevenson's famous novel, "Treasure Island". There's time for a swim or snorkel at the Indians before watching a spectacular Caribbean sunset while enjoying a sundowner or two. Visit either the Billy Bones restaurant ashore, or the floating bar/restaurant the William Thornton each serving great food and offering the utmost in casual dining.

Day 2.
After breakfast, take the dinghy over to The Caves. Enjoy the wonders of the coral reef with its colorful inhabitants (don't forget to look for treasure!). Sail to Cooper Island with time for more snorkeling off Cistern Point, or while away the
afternoon lounging on the beach. Visit the Beach Bar and sample their liquid refreshments!

Day 3.
A sail up to The Baths at Virgin Gorda, where the captain will take you ashore to explore the magnificent boulders and rock pools created by Mother Nature millions of years ago. This has got to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth. After lunch, sail to Marina Cay or Trellis Bay to spend the night.  Both of these anchorages are situated with superb settings of the surrounding islands.  The Last Resort and Loose Mongoose are fun to go ashore to and have a cocktail and meet some of the locals.

Day 4.
Off to North Sound, Virgin Gorda (great snorkeling at the Dogs or Mountain Point en route) the hard part being which anchorage to choose for your overnight stay. For quiet and tranquility there is Drake's Anchorage where you can go ashore in the evening and walk over the hill to watch the sunset from Honeymoon Beach.  If you want entertainment, Bitter End Yacht Club offers music most nights and this is a popular spot.  There is a choice of great stores for some shopping and a tank with a shark and a selection of other fish, which at this time you will be familiar with right at the dingy dock.  Biras Creek is for those seeking elegance and first-class service.  The resort has one of the best restaurants and wine cellars in the BVI (there is a dress code after 7pm).

Day 5.
Spend the morning exploring by dinghy.  There are many beautiful, deserted beaches and Eustatia Reef is a wonderful snorkeling site, or set sail for Monkey Point on Guana Island in time for lunch and some snorkeling. Cruise down the rugged and unspoilt North shore of Tortola and overnight in Little Harbour or Great Harbour on Jost Van Dyke.

Day 6.
A short motor over to Sandy Cay to experience the perfect desert island!  Snorkel, swim and beachcombe and then enjoy lunch before you sail to Cane Garden Bay for your overnight anchorage.  The beach has numerous restaurants and you will find there will be a selection of different sounds coming from the local bands drifting across the water.

Day 7.
After playing on the beach at Cane Garden Bay, set course for Soper's Hole, on the West End of Tortola or enjoy a longer run to Little Harbour, Peter Island. As you watch the sunset, promise yourself you will be back to visit the many other wonderful places in the BVI that you didn't get to see this time.

Day 8.
Time for one more swim then back to the marina to enjoy a light lunch and depart at 12 noon.

Diving the B.V.I.
Some of the best diving in the world is here in the British Virgin Islands, including the Wreck of the RMS Rhone, rated as one of the top ten wreck dives in the world.  If the yacht that you are chartering does not offer diving directly from the yacht, there are numerous local dive companies who meet your yacht at anchor and pick up those wishing to dive (a perfect solution if only some of the guests want to dive). There is normally an $80 per diver charge and this includes your gear and a two-tank dive.
